To reach the gauge and benchmarks from the intersection of John F. Kennedy Causeway bridge and the Gulf Intercoastal Waterway (GIWW) proceed south by boat down the GIWW for approximately 30 miles. The gauge is located on a 6' x 6' platform just north of USCG bouy no. 57 on the east edge of the GIWW. The benchmarks are located on the spoil island east of the gauge platform.
