Monday June 23rd:
- Breakfast
- Morning: Rapid general introductions of TCOON (Pat) and ROPVO (Toyo) also welcome from university officials and final discussion
- Afternoon:
- Presentation of present and potential hardware used at the stations with description of instruments output and maintenance issues
- Presentation of the instruments presently used at the future ROPVO stations and discussion of hardwar compatibility
Tuesday June 24th:
- Full day visit of the stations starting with the Bob Hall Pier station (fully instrumented, open coast), the port Aransas station (ship channel, water levels and winds), and the Rockport station (water levels only)
- Evening diner at the boiling Pot in Rockport
- If the weather does not permit an effective visit of the stations, the visit will take place on Wednesday
Wednesday June 25th:
- Series of presentations and question/answer sessions for a describtion of TCOON/DNR Hardware and Software from sensors to web including the following topics:
- Cube
- Communication between hardware and cube
- Communication between stations and central location
- Storage of the raw data and processing upon arrival at central location
- Processing of the data, conversion
- Data publication to the web or automated phone lines
- Procedures for Maintenance, Emergency Repairs, Quality Assurance, Quality Control of the data
- A tentative plan could be for a series of one hour segments with ~ 1/2 hour presentations with another ~ 20 minutes for discussion and a short break before the next segment. (This might be difficult as the topics will likely require different length of times)
Thursday June 26th:
- Likely arrival of Dr. Figueroa Nazuno
- Morning: discussion of licensing issues centered on the use of the GPL or General Public License. Discussion of how a broader group based on DNR technologies could function. Produce a short document with the draft of the license as well as guidelines for what it requires for groups to join the joint network (requirement on procedures, QA/QC?)
- Afternoon: Welcome of the new guests, short tour of campus. Overall presentations of what has been accomplished during the week and plans and schedules for the next steps of the development
- Evening: diner at location to be determined
Friday June 27th:
- Morning: Brief review of the week (Philippe or Pat) and scientific talks (also possibility to schedule the talks on Thursday afternoon). Talks from Dr. Figueroa Nazuno, Dr. Alexei Sadovski, Dr. Steven Danely, others?. Invitation of local scientists from the National Weather service, the coast guard and emergency management.
- Afternoon: Discussion of future plans for the extension of the measurement network and of future joint modeling efforts
- Adjournement of the visit
