University Cabins Trip - CANCELLED

This trip has been postponed, possibly until the weather cools off a bit. There will be no trip this weekend (Aug30-31).

We would like to plan another short trip to the University Cabins in Laguna Madre. If you are interested, please add your name to the list below. Also see the categories of items that will be needed and add anything you can bring or sign up to bring something on the list. Thanks!

PLEASE NOTE THESE FEW STIPULATIONS PASSED DOWN TO ALL CABIN USERS, PER DR. ROY LEHMAN.

Dogs are allowed, however, extreme care must be taken to ensure that your dogs do not bother the nesting birds on the island. Various S&T classes use the spoil island for their habitat studies, which includes faunal uses.

Some type of "improvement" to the site is appreciated. I have asked Dr. Lehman for some suggestions and will pass these along for your consideration.

Who Plans on Coming:

  • John
  • Aimee
  • Tony + Cathy
  • Zack

Kristie and Andie are out - Chris has minor surgery Friday and we decided to stick around and baby him. I guess I'll have another birthday soon, anyway (November?).

When/Where To Meet: Saturday, August 30 at Marker 37 boat ramp

This time we want to try and haul everyone over at one time, so if you miss the boats, you will have to start calling cell phones. The plan is to stay overnight and come back Sunday afternoon.

I think that this is idealistic but perhaps not realistic as many folks have lots of other things going on. Please do not let this restriction cause you to miss the show. A ferry schedule can be determined, depending on the number of users and demand. Also, we have the facility Friday 29 August through Monday, 1 September, and everyone is welcome to stay the entire time.

This is also the occasion of Scott/Cindys' anniversary, and, if you can believe Kristie, her birthday. Perhaps we can celebrate all August and September birthdays while we are there.
