13:18 < dbcooper> 3. Did you run into anything that's stopping you from making progress?
13:18 < dbcooper> A: Task-oriented time management + Computer Graphics class + [Lack of] Sleep = Exhaustion
13:18 < dbcooper> 4. Do you need some face time with one of IT3D? (or if you are IT3D, do you need any face time with a student?)

13:18 < dbcooper> PerlJam: you're up
13:19 < dbcooper> PerlJam: The princess needs saving!
13:20 < dbcooper> PerlJam.timeout(60);
13:21 < dbcooper> Was Scott around when we decided to change the meeting time?
13:22 * dbcooper rolls a d20.
13:23 < padawan-chase> this is a perception check?
13:24 < dbcooper> padawan-chase: It's a listen check.
13:25 < padawan-chase> gotcha
13:25 * hamez is checking out this page (sfw may be questionable, but I've seen all these ads while on facebook doing stuff so work so...): http://www.lazygamer.co.za/general-news/a-history-of-evony-ads-the-insanity-continues
13:26 < dbcooper> SIGALRM
13:26 < dbcooper> Perljam has timed out. Is there anything to discuss?
13:27 < dbcooper> http://contexts.org/socimages/files/2009/07/shot-one.jpg
13:27 < dbcooper> I call shenanigans!
13:27 < rysan> lol
13:28 < padawan-chase> must... play... Evony....
13:28 < rysan> Evony is such a weird name for something
13:28 < hamez> look away padawan, look away
13:28 < dbcooper> padawan-chase: Yes. Play Evony. Help lower the mean for Graphics Assignment 2 grades.
13:28 < rysan> lol
13:28 < padawan-chase> lol
13:28 < padawan-chase> I'll get the whole class addicted to it
13:29 < dbcooper> padawan-chase: Give in to your need for mouse-click based gratification.
13:29 < padawan-chase> well.. all the males
13:29 < rysan> dbcooper: a young padawan such as chase may be lured by sultry minx's and temptation of the ads, but I shall not fall prey to this...
13:29 < padawan-chase> so like 4/5 of the class
13:29 < dbcooper> 8/9ths?
13:29 < dbcooper> How many women are there? 4?
13:29 < padawan-chase> 4 or 5
13:29 < PerlJam> I don't think I was around when the time changed.
13:29 < hamez> Evony <- Civony <- Civilzations
13:30 < rysan> lawren maya and that other girl whos name i know but can't remember are the only chicks I can recall in there
13:30 < padawan-chase> amanda, lacey
13:30 < dbcooper> PerlJam: http://meridian.tamucc.edu/mailman/private/dnr-is/2009-September/010899.html
13:30 < rysan> lacey! that's who i was thinking of
13:30 * dbcooper zings.
13:30 < padawan-chase> and... that foreign student
13:31 < hamez> it is a rip off of civilization, they even called it civony, buy renamed it evony
13:31 * afterefx &
13:31 < hamez> s/buy/but/
13:31 < dbcooper> How many students in the class, total?
13:31 < rysan> sounds lame and lacking of the large breasted women
13:31 < rysan> King said 23 that one day in class
13:32 < rysan> I dunno if that's still true or was accurate then
13:32 < dbcooper> I stand corrected--4/5 is a better approximation.
13:32 < hamez> in case you care: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evony
13:32 < padawan-chase> woohoo
13:32 < hamez> especially:
13:32 < dbcooper> The new meeting time was also on the Google Calendar.
13:33 < hamez> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evony#Advertising_campaign
13:33 < rysan> did anyone ever play O-Game? Or know what it was?
13:33 < hamez> "The images depicted females who, as the ad campaign continued, grew further and further unclothed, until the ad was simply a bra-clad pair of breasts."
13:33 < dbcooper> rysan: I'm not sure I want to google "O-Game" at work.
13:33 < rysan> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OGame
13:33 < rysan> I played O-game for a looooong time
13:33 < PerlJam> dbcooper: Aye, I even noticed it earlier today but promptly forgot.
13:33 < rysan> around 2 years I'd say
13:33 < dbcooper> hamez: Optimization!
13:34 < rysan> it just became something I did every day in my normal 'internet' routine. Check my email, check my forums, check o-game...etc
13:34 < rysan> once I was about number 16 on the server and started getting raped hourly by the number 1 player I gave up and washed my hands of it
13:35 < dbcooper> I wonder if it is at all possible to wear out the male instinct to look at breasts and click on them. Like in the future, will advertisers have to come up with something different or will that be the "maximum click-through" limit? A pair of boobs.
13:35 < rysan> dbcooper: Its relative with Age I'd think. There will always be new 12 year olds who will click on boobs instantly
13:35 < hamez> want to touch...crap, I didn't mean to click...damn
13:36 < dbcooper> This meeting has spun out of control. Perljam, are you composing?
13:37 < dbcooper> rysan: I think advanced age has granted me a .5 second delay/thought process between seeing the boobs and clicking on them to ask myself--Do I *really* want to click on these boobs?
13:37 < rysan> dbcooper: exactly...that's what I mean by relative to age
13:38 < dbcooper> PerlJam: ?
13:38 < dbcooper> Did we lose him to Evony?
13:38 < PerlJam> dbcooper: 1. 40 2. none or just the right amount depending on how you look at it 3. no, 4. yes, but they already know about it 5. Pharos 6. no
13:38 < dbcooper> You win again, boobs.
13:40 * padawan-chase is away playing evony online
13:41 < rysan> padawan-chase: you'll be sadly disappointed to find no large-breasted women appear outside the ads.
13:41 < padawan-chase> lies.. I'm gonna save the princess and show you...
13:42 < PerlJam> dbcooper, hamez: Do either of you know if TAMUCC has a site-license for MS Project? Rizzo would like to start using it.
13:42 < dbcooper> PerlJam: No clue. You can call computer services and ask them about it.
13:43 < PerlJam> or ... he can call computer services and ask them about it :)
13:45 < dbcooper> I think the school only has site-licenses for MS Office and Windows OS, but I could be wrong.
13:46 < dbcooper> PerlJam: Christina Gonzalez, x3444 is the person to talk to re: software licenses.
13:46 < dbcooper> Anything else?
13:46 < dbcooper> Anyone? Anyone? Euler? Euler?
13:46 < dbcooper> I move to close the meeting.
13:46 < PerlJam> second.
13:47 < dbcooper> All those in favor?
13:47 < hamez> aye
13:47 < dbcooper> Meeting closed!

13:03 < HerrDokt0r> 1. 20
13:03 < HerrDokt0r> 2. Met with Dr. King and went over the project. Also wrote an abstract and had it reviewed by Dr. Thomas. Now that I've got the outline of the project, I can start working on it more. I also did hello world again, and ordered a book from Amazon on programming the Palm WebOS.
13:03 < HerrDokt0r> 3. Just typical stuff, other classes work and what not.
13:03 < HerrDokt0r> 4. Not really yet.
13:03 < HerrDokt0r> 5. More of the same. I'd like to get a much more complex form of a program running on the Palm Pre to see what all I can do with it. Maybe get some examples on using the google maps on the phone to plot our stations.
13:03 < HerrDokt0r> 6. I got Sara's laptop going and called media services on it. I'm not sure if they've come to get it yet or not, but she should be all setup. When it gets back from media services I can run the symantec updates and make sure its 100%, but it was pretty much set before I called them. Beat cascraft's time, too. >:D

13:07 < PerlJam> 5. Pharos and touch base with James/Josh on the height mod database work.
13:07 < PerlJam> 6. Shared disk for the admin staff. Backups for PCs. Microsoft Project. According to Rick Smith it's part of the the MSDN. We need to confirm and get a copy for James R.
13:07 < PerlJam> jrod1: Make sure you meet with Greg and myself or James D. this week whether Greg likes it or not!
13:08 < PerlJam> END OF LINE
13:08 < jrod1> PerlJam: No Problem!!!! Im shooting for Friday can one of you make it on that day?
13:08 < PerlJam> I can be there. James is out
13:09 < jrod1> Okay then ill shoot an email and set a time on google calendars
13:09 < hamez> I am here this week, out next
13:09 < PerlJam> awesome
13:09 < PerlJam> hamez: oh, it's next friday? I totally have no clue what today is apparently :)
13:10 < hamez> yeah, Friday 10/9. today is 9/28 :-)
13:10 < cashcraft> so should we clear up some whiteboard space for ER diagrams?
13:10 < hamez> no just install more whiteboards
13:10 < HerrDokt0r> hamez: i like the way you think
13:10 < cashcraft> someone buy the materials and I'll begin construction :P
13:11 < PerlJam> Gina asked this morning about setting up a shared disk for the adming staff and about backing up their PCs. These things seem like "easy" tasks that we can get done this week.
13:11 < PerlJam> s/adming/admin/
13:11 < hamez> yeah, this "should" be pretty eay to do with outhouse
13:12 < PerlJam> hamez: If you would set that up, that would be great.
13:12 < hamez> np
13:12 < hamez> and I'll even documentt he process so everyone can do it ;)
13:12 < dbcooper> I think most of the admin computers are on the TAMUCC network, which means, I think, they have access to the "I:" drive across campus.
13:12 < cashcraft> hamez: sounds good
13:13 < PerlJam> tres bon
13:15 < PerlJam> Anything else?
13:15 < HerrDokt0r> Nein!
13:15 * HerrDokt0r Salutes
13:16 < PerlJam> HerrDokt0r: what exactly are you doing for your project?
13:16 < HerrDokt0r> developing a mechanism for which pigs can fly
13:16 < HerrDokt0r> so girls can no longer use that line
13:17 < PerlJam> excellent! I expect a demonstration of the prototype tomorrow.
13:17 < HerrDokt0r> CBI lawn, noon!!
13:17 < HerrDokt0r> we're going to dress cashcraft up like a pig and let him test it out
13:17 < PerlJam> (and no cheating! An air canon is not an acceptable way to make pigs fly)
13:17 < dbcooper> Slingshots, however, are an exception.
13:18 < dbcooper> I move to close the meeting.
13:18 < cashcraft> second
13:18 < PerlJam> no, the pigs must fly under their own power and be able to alter course.
13:18 < HerrDokt0r> PerlJam: actually I'm making an mobile application that will give access to our station information. It'll include a lot of features, like plotting on the Google Maps of our stations, filters for specific ones, GPS locatin services for determing what station you are closest to...etc
13:18 < PerlJam> We can call the meeting adjourned then!
