ITCoreValues

In the absence of other IT employees with whom I can discuss personal core values, I will outline my core values (at least what I think, if not what I say or do). They are not in any particular order.

  • Quality / "Do it right" - I want my work to be of a superior quality. I want it to be reliable and useful to the intended audience.
  • Improve, not just maintain - I want to improve things, make them better, not simply maintain the status quo.
  • Education - I seek to learn and teach others.
  • Honesty - I will be honest with my co-workers. "I don't know" is a perfectly acceptable answer. I am willing to admit my mistakes and own them.
  • Integrity - I seek to bring integrity to all aspects of my life and will likely always be working on this.

All DNR IT personnel should meet and determined shared core values. Anyone we hire should fit our core values first, and meet desired skill/knowledge criteria second.

My core values (listed above) should be replaced with an a single list that everyone can agree with.
